about

Joint poem with El Gee about the reluctance of people in Gary to want to do something to counter the negative connotation that the city carries and how I use it as fuel for my continued pride to be from Gary.

lyrics

(El Gee intro)
If a man die can he live again
I’ve got my atoms even
Back to gardening
Use cheer to clean up your dirty laundry
To be Tied and whisk the past away
Enjoy your new day to make it plain
As long as you learn to be sore
And not soar in your pain
You could, woody would on the wood
But you got to peck away at your past
So you can have the everlasting life that’s promised
By the Most High
You could soar like a dove and clean up with dawn
So you can arrive in an Irish springs
And be very, very, very, very, clean
I brain wash with soap on a rope until I’m
Filled with new thought about what God brought
Can I be the creator by the created
To create something as a producer
So I won’t be consumed by consumerism
And know
That I’m in the bosom of the Most High
And still being breast-fed with His Daily Bread
Trying to get new thought in my head so I
Love the Lord
And I was too fit to be tied
So I had to slow down
And take a ride so I wouldn’t take the dive
I had to loose the losses at all costs

(Kelechukwu body)
My introduction like a suction
Removing my life force for selfish purposes
With my permission
Deceive of our shared vision
A community was my prism
Building our business
On a love we didn’t share was my prison
I created so many bars behind the bars
In the shadow of the spotlight that left scars
And a satisfied crowd
With no knowledge or concern
It’s like who’s turn would be next
To come to take the life out of our set
With no power of creation
The people applauded the imitation
But I was warned and didn’t listen
Saw flashes of the feminine side
Of so many brothers that I assisted
Like my love was sadistic
Work ethic above ethics
But kept the unethical to close to source
Gave a credibility to the un-credible
Incredible that I was not wise enough
To believe my eyes and the evidence
Hold it down by myself open to close
With very little help
In a self-less ness
I was the change I wanted to see
But couldn’t influence a love for self
Shine brighter than the owner ego
And I’ve got to own it
People really don’t love this city like I do
And I should expect and respect that
It’s easier to be
Part of the walking dead
Than to resurrect that

They told me to slow down
Cause I was pressing the speed limit
Trying to get to my natural essence
Like I was reborn in Kemet
If a man die can he live again
But I’m trying to live life and love
To the limit

(Kelechukwu close)
And people really don’t love this city like I do
And I should expect and respect that
It’s easier to be
Part of the walking dead
Than to resurrect that
